Moscow 65th Victory Day 2010 Gallery

0 Anti-Kubi
A quick gallery updates about 65th Victory Day of Russia. Took place at Red Square. I posted some videos at my previous post so I am just gonna quickly upload some pictures here. Not much pictures taken but no doubt I had a great outing.
The Russian Heroes. Or to be more exact, the former armies. It is a russian-culture for the former armies to attend the Victory Day celebration with their favorite tux, hung with all the batches they had earned so far since they entered army schools, walking around Moscow accepting flowers from the younger respectful ones. I guess this is the part we talk about respect. Like I'd said before, nothing awesome I like about Moscow, but saying about patriotism, Russian is always at the top. And we have all the rights to hate them for being so patriotism but I doubt if they deserve it. Anyway, I do adore them. Not all the times. But sometimes they deserve our respect too =)

I didn't prepare any bouquet but I was able to take a photo with them.
I was happy =) Hes so cute. Look at all his batches. And he is OLD.
How I wish I own one of his lovely batch.1945-2010

Moscow 65th Victory Day 2010

0 Anti-Kubi
My first time at Red Square celebrating Victory Day with thousands of muscovites. We made it there this year but we were late. We were unable to witness the opening ceremony of the celebration. Danbo is complaining still. Watching them in YouTube, I really wish I was there. I guess there is no 2nd chance watching such powerful performances like the air-force or what-so-ever you call them, the air-force plane, war trucks, fire trucks or monster trucks ~ wuteva you wanna name it. I am quite sad that I missed it.

And it is a pain when you miss TWO awesome performances in one day! The fireworks! It is the first time ever Moscow having such a wonderful fireworks, at least my 6 years in Moscow, this is the first time ever. And sadly, hell yeah instead I witnessed it on you tube again! =( It might NOT be as good as the fireworks I witnessed during Independence Day in New York last year, or it might NOT be as good as the fireworks in Orlando Disneyland but well, 'this' is enough for one slight reason or one second of thought to amaze Moscow. Staying in Moscow for 6 years, I guess I like nothing about Moscow if I were to compare with other countries (I am not even thinking about Malaysia) BUT there is one thing ; not about the fashion, the food, the building, the friendliness, the kindness, not about Moscow but their patriotism amazed me. They are powerful. And one of those reason why everybody hates Russians, because Russians love Russians.

2nd part of Victory Day coming up ~

Mr. Kubi my snowy man XD

0 Anti-Kubi
After 6 years staying in Moscow, can't believe myself making snowman for the very FIRST time. I think this has to do with my travels. I travel every winter. Every. But this year unfortunately, I stayed back in Moscow. And I think that was the main reason why I have time to make a snowman. Hehe. It was an awesome experience. It was so fun and so cold (as usual).

Our first time snowing angel XDMy snow angel =)
It is not easy to make a snowman. Haha. What you need is to at least bring a few bottles of water to ball the snow together tightly, a few pails to transfer the snow quicker, decorations like buttons, scarf, snow cap, tree branches and most importantly is to bring along your gloves with you. Oh yeah, never forget his nose ~ the carrot and also remember to wear your winter boots !

My favorite picture of the day XDMy first time jumping into the snow.
I have never ending first time =p
I remembered myself shivering under the blanket for 1 hour after the snowman, no joke. The snow was so high and we soaked our legs inside the snow for hours. And in order to make the snow angel, of course you gotta lay onto the snow, putting your arse onto the snow and let the snow penetrates through your skinny jeans. You won't even feel cold when you were having fun but soon after you walk home, haha there you go, superBBB =S And also yuckkyy if you can realize haha my flowing mucous under the nose, when you were freezing you won't even realize the mucous got frozen too. It's yucky but trust me you won't even notice'em XD
Taaaaaa Daaaaaaaaa . . . Mr.Kubi looks so handsome ! We took more than an hour setting him up. But it was all worth it. Worth the cold and worth the effort. And thanks to my group-mates shaping my Kubi so roundly and fat-ly XD

I would really love to make another one, anytime soon. Unfortunately a day after my snowman thingy, the snow melted and from that day onwards till now, no snow, no winter, but here come spring~! Oh by the way, this place is just the park opposite my hostel. Everywhere looks so white and nice when you had a huge snow storm a day before.

Snowmen for the last

2 Anti-Kubi
Winter oh winter. Winter has just ended. No more winter, no more cloudy sky, no more gloomy pictures, no more snowflakes, no more snow storms, no more freezing extremities, no more free-flowing mucous under your nose, no more bulky wears, no more no more no more no more and NO MORE ~ and It's spring now !

Allow me to update my last few winter ~ posts and pictures. You know I am always late. Hehe. And lucky you, I have the mood today ~ thus you 'might' be able to read all my updates in 2 months in one day ~ today XD Good isn't it? Hehe maybe just me being hyper. Heh!
There you go ~ Hundreds of snowmen were set in front of one of the museum in Moscow last 2 month. The weather wasn't cold,it was freezing cold. Only temperature below 20C (with sunshine) can hold the snowmen in shape, so we were freezing freezing freezing cold.
Every year, there must be such hundreds of snowmen set up 'somewhere' in the city of Moscow. I didn't know where the snowmen were set for the previous years but for this year, I made it there =)
The snowmen were fugly to be frank BUT ~ Well rarely you can see hundreds of snowmen set up at ONE place. So, forget about the fugly appreance ~ and we had a great outing XD

# 2 Chinese New Year 2010

4 Anti-Kubi
We went out for dinner, celebrating first day of Chinese New Year. Venue : China Garden Restaurant, located at Crowne Hotel or better known as The World Trade Center.

Well, if you don't know them ; They are my group-mates cum my closest friends in Moscow. Most of us came to Moscow together after college, counting since then, almost 8 years of friendship. And well, of course other than these people I do have a number of closest-closest friends but most of them graduated already and left us (Danbo and I) stranded here. Hehe.
The dinner was below average or to be more exact, totally OUT of our (my) expectancy. We expected the restaurant to be bigger, or at least have a big round table for 10 person. We expected the Chinese. I mean the waitress ; instead they are all Russians. We expected the food to be pricey BUT we thought the food gonna be really really nice, sadly disappointed. The taste of the food wasn't 'that' bad but I would say it's europeanized with tiny portions. And they are all over Rub1000 @ RM100 per plate.

Kung Pow Frog-Leg (Kung Pow Tin Kai)
Fish fillets with white wineLoh Hon Zhai
I didn't like the dinner at all, except for the Crispy Peking Duck. I was craving for it, BADLY. Came out to be good, tasted just fine. And like I said expensive over Rub2500. But if you don't know, the difference between Crispy Peking Duck and Peking Duck, I am gonna tell you now. The latter only serves the skin of the roasted duck, while the meat gonna be serve with another style of cooking (or stir-fry) and the bone gonna be serve as soup. While Crispy Peking Duck comes with the meat and the skin together. Both serve with Chinese pancakes, cucumber, spring onions and hoisin sauce. I've tried so many Peking Ducks ; in Malaysia, in London, in China, well nothing can beat China! They serve the BEST peking duck in the world hehe. Doubtlessly.I guess this gonna be my first and final time dining in. Supposedly, we all agreed to dine-in another restaurant, said to be more famous and delicious. But fully booked. Sooooo . . . I am gonna give it a try next time and never this anymore. And by the way, the pictures look so pweeetyyyy and I didn't believe myself they are not tasty wuahahahaha XD OH yeah I forgot something. I wanna complain about the rice ! ! ! Haha =p One bowl of bloody rice, plain WHITE rice peeps, cost us Rub 320 @ RM 40. Yeah one bowl. You just gotta believe me *wink*
